American University, SIS
American University, SIS
The program is based on a cooperation agreement between the MAIB and the School of International Service, American University.
It provides for the exchange of up to five students per year from the FU degree programs M.A. International Relations and M.A. Political Science for a non-degree exchange with the School of International Service. Students on a non-degree exchange do not have the opportunity to earn a Master's degree. However, the credits you earn there can be recognized. Applicants should be aware that only one study place for one semester is allocated to MAIB students.
Applications for the exchange program are selected by a MAIB application committee. Berlin nominates candidates, those nominated must then apply directly to the American University, where a final decision on admission is made. Tuition fees at SIS are waived, but students must cover their own living costs in Washington. Students should apply for a scholarship (e.g. DAAD) at the same time as applying.
Application
Application deadline for Fall Term (August to mid-December): January 15
Application deadline for Spring Term (January to mid-May): September 01
The receipt of the complete application is decisive for compliance with the application deadline.
Applications for the exchange program must be submitted electronically to the MAIB office. The responsible committee selects suitable candidates and nominates them for the exchange program. The application committee reserves the right to invite applicants to a personal interview. Berlin nominates candidates and SIS decides on admission.
Please submit your application as early as possible so that any questions can be clarified in good time.
